The next UFC superfight has been confirmed and will feature women’s featherweight champion Cris” Cyborg” Justino defending her title against women’s bantamweight champ Amanda “The Lioness” Nunes as the main event of UFC 232 on Dec.29 in Las Vegas.
This battle of the Brazilian lady titans, which has been in the works for awhile, was finally confirmed by UFC president Dana White according to an ESPN report.
Justino has gone undefeated since suffering her only career loss in back in 2005 in her MMA debut. Cyborg is one the most dominant female fighters on the planet. She has held featherweight titles for Strikeforce and Invicta FC . She holds an MMA record of 20-1-1 and is currently riding a 10-fight win streak.
Nunes is looking to follow 2-division UFC champ Daniel Cormier and become the first women’s champ-champ in UFC history. Currently on a 7-fight win streak, Nunes has had 3 successful title defenses against Ronda Rousey, Valentina Shevchenko, and most recently,Raquel Pennington since winning the title from Miesha Tate in 2016. Nunes has an MMA record of 16-4.
Will Cyborg continue her reign of terror or will Nunes make UFC history? Guess we’ll find out on Dec.29.
