The PFL regular season ends tonight and Johnny Case has officially secured the final lightweight playoff spot after Jason High failed to make weight for the fight.
Brian Foster and Ramsey Nijem were originally slated to compete for the last playoff spot, but both men were forced withdraw from competition. Foster didn’t receive a license to compete from the athletic commission, and Ramsey wasn’t cleared by a physician after being placed on medical suspension following his loss to Foster at PFL 2 on June 21.
This opened the door for Case and High but it got slammed shut when High missed weight, giving Case 3 points, allowing him to secure the last remaining lightweight playoff spot by default, and Case has yet to fight this season. He gets to compete for a million dollars and he hasn’t even thrown a punch yet. Only in America.
Guess this will give High another reason to throw a fit.
Tonight’s PFL season finale will air on Facebook and NBCSN, with prelims starting at 6:30 PM ET on Facebook Watch followed by the main card on NBCSN at 9:00 PM ET.
