Khabib Nurmagomedov vows to destroy Conor McGregor after bus attack

Khabib Nurmagomedov defeats Al Iaquinta

Khabib Nurmagomedov is ready to defend his lightweight title and has made it abundantly clear that he wants his next fight to be against Conor McGregor. Will that fight ever happen? Probably so. The UFC will make any fight that brings them a shitload of money,  However, before that fight happens, McGregor first has to deal with the legal consequences stemming from his actions at the Barclay Center in April.

If you haven’t been keeping up, this is the incident in which McGregor, accompanied by a huge entourage, stormed through the parking garage at the Barclay Center and tossed a dolly into a bus window. Check out the video below.

That bus was carrying several UFC fighters, including Nurmagomedov. Three UFC bouts were canceled as a result of this and McGregor was booked and charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief. He is due back in court on July 26, 2018.

McGregor’s mayhem is believed to be a retaliation for an incident had occurred earlier in the week between Nurmagomedov and Artem Lobov at a Brooklyn Hotel. Lobov and McGregor are teammates, as well as friends.

Khabib recently took time out and spoke to Sport24 and had this to say about his next fight:

“I do not know yet who will be my rival. The battle is likely to take place in Las Vegas. I want to fight McGregor, the fans are also waiting for this fight. I hope that Conor wants this fight. He talked a lot, but for some reason, as soon as it came to real negotiations about the fight, he fell silent.

In what round will I be able to knock out McGregor? I do not know this, and no one can know this. I’m going to destroy it, but in what round the fight will end – it’s hard to say. What will be the battle with him? I think that the fight will be held more in the stalls, we will fight more. I am now interested in four rivals. If I win these four fights, then you can think about the end of his career.”

Khabib Nurmagomedov fights Al Iaquinta for UFC lightweight championship

Nurmagomedov, who is the current UFC lightweight champion and has an MMA record of 26-0, has been trying to secure a fight with McGregor for almost 2 years. Anyone remember UFC 205? That’s when Khabib fought Michael Johnson and was screaming for a title shot at Dana White while in the middle of pounding on Johnson. Priceless. Can’t wait to see these two square off. Nurmagomedov has a fierce ground game and McGregor has that precise and powerful left. Two great fighters, two different styles, one kick-ass main event.
